About National Climate Change Committee

A National Climate Change Committee (NCCC) was established by decree issued by the Prime Minister in 2001.

The NCCC is the owner of Jordan’s National Climate Change Policy and has the main role in the supervision of its implementation.

The Ministry of Environment has the special role of Chair of the NCCC and its Secretariat.

The committee is composed of sixteen Secretary Generals of related ministries including:

• Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources
• Ministry of Agriculture
• Ministry of Water and Irrigation
• Ministry of Health, which can be assigned various activities of climate change-related projects.
