National entities seeking to gain accreditation to the GCF require an NDA nomination letter.  The Ministry of Environment has developed a selection process for nominating Direct Access Entities to the GCF.

Ministry of Environment DAE Selection Method

The NDA will periodically publish a call for Expression of Interest.  It will consider every entity submitting a complete package of the requested documentation.  Selection will be made based on pre-defined criteria designed to identify the entity with the greatest potential for success (achieving GCF accreditation) as described in the table below.  Entities will be selected based on a review process supported by the NDA and their GCF Readiness delivery partner. Assessments are primarily based on whether candidates are capable of strong financial management, safeguarding funded projects and programs against any unforeseen environmental or social harm, and emphasizing the relationship with and impact on women and other vulnerable groups.Qualified organizations shall be invited for an interview by the NDA for additional screening prior to final selection.  Entities who are not selected to receive technical support for their application will be provided with recommendations about the areas they need to strengthen in order to be considered for GCF DAE nomination in the future.
